Prayers Are Answered Again

Sometimes God answers prayers in ways that are almost comical. Just recently on September 30Th 2007, which here in Maine is the last day of open water fishing season. God again answered a prayer in a way to show me He's definitely listening. It was such a simple thing asked for. You see my wife Debra and I are avid fishing partners. We own a small boat and motor for pond and small lake fishing. All season I have had some success and caught a few Trout. Debra on the other hand had only caught one Trout and a bunch of Chubs (AKA trash fish). So since this was the last day of fishing season before getting into the boat and setting out to fish I said to Deb hold my hand dear lets pray. We held hands bowed our heads and I prayed aloud" Lord thank you for the beautiful weather and day. Thank you for allowing us to go fishing and providing the stuff to do so. And for a safe day of fishing. As you know Lord, Debra has not had a very good fishing season, so if it could be your will to help would you please see to it that Debra has a good day fishing and a nice catch. I really don't care Lord if I catch anything or not but please be with Debra and guide her hand and bless her. In Jesus' Holy Name "..."AMEN". So we got in the boat and set out for a late afternoon, early evening of fishing. We trolled across the pond and all of a sudden got a nibble. I stopped the boat and we float fished on that spot. We both caught a few chubs so I said to Deb, "I think all we are doing is wasting our worms feeding the chubs in this spot, lets move to another area". So I started up the motor and just started to move and Deb said, "OH OH , I think I got caught on something on the bottom". So I shut the motor off and asked if she needed my help getting freed. She said,"Wait It's coming up I guess I got a big fish on". So she was really struggling and said," I bet it's one of those huge chubs". This place we fish allot, Mountain View Pond in Little Moose, Maine, has some chubs in there that can weigh 3 or 4 pounds. She kept the pressure on her beloved Ugly Stick and was winning the battle getting the fish closer and closer. All of a sudden she screams out excitedly,"It's a Trout, I see the speckles". And starts getting all squeaky and giddy in her voice with the joy that only a true fishing fanatic gets. She worked it over to my end of the boat and was screaming." Help me get it in the boat, Help me, Help me before I lose it". So I reach out grabbed the line gave a quick little pull and flip, and flipped it in the bottom of the boat. It was huge. I was a little envious. I haven't caught a Trout like this in years. Now I know what a lot of people reading this are probably thinking,"It was just a coincidence", but I know God was reminding me. I heard a voice in my inner conscience say," There you go my child as you asked for". My heart leaped in my chest and I felt his hands on me. I was so pleased for my Debra's thrilling catch. But most of all I am so Blessed with the message I received. I feel so loved by God. This was just another prayer answered quickly to remind me He is right here with me all the time and will answer all my prayers if it is in his will to do so. He always sees me through all my trials. I don't always quickly see my prayers answered like this one but in time ,one way or another they always are. Mankind is so Blessed to have this one and only Loving Father IN Heaven that we have. Sometimes I just sit and cry knowing I'm so undeserving of His Love but so grateful for His Grace that was bestowed on all humanity with the life and death of his only begotten son Jesus Christ. And again I find myself praying for every soul still in the flesh to Open their hearts and let Jesus in. I pray everyone will count their blessings and give gratitude to the Father In Heaven for everything. I pray they will live for God with the true desire to be His Hands and Feet. He's calling out for Workers in His Fields. I pray all humanity will be watchmen, keeping watch for God's Triumphant Return to gather all his children. In JESUS' HOLY NAME..........AMEN.
